In the Rain: Choosing Connection Over Optimization

My brain was on overdrive this week, cluttered with endless to-do lists and “optimization suggestions.” I spent an entire afternoon just picking a pair of shoes for my baby.

My rational mind kept whispering: “This is inefficient. You should optimize this process.” I even instinctively felt the urge to “format” this pace to keep up with the fast-moving world.

But at that moment, when my fingers touched the soft leather and felt its delicate warmth, I found a slow, honest connection again.

The world is always rushing us—to copy shortcuts, to trade interests, to go faster. But in these “meaningless” moments, I choose to hold onto a tiny space to breathe.

It’s raining outside. The raindrops fall softly, covering everything with grace.

Not rushing, just feeling.
